Who lives in a pineapple under the seaaaaa?
So I felt really random today and was Random Fact #1: Pineapples take 3 WHOLE YEARS to mature. That's 21 dog years. Random Fact #2: Pineapples actually DON'T ripen after being harvested, so keeping the pineapple chilling out for a couple days to fully "ripen" before eating it, doesn't do anything. Random Fact #3: Guys, guys, pineapple wine exists. BOOM. MINDBLOWN. The past 2 weeks my sister and I started a routine where every night we'll turn off all the lights, grad a blanket and some snacks, and then watch 1 or 2 Disney movies. We've watched several of them so far and I thought I would recommend my top 5 favorite Disney movies. 1) Lion King - This movie is the definition of a perfect throwback movie. It's cute and nostalgic, but with enough hidden jokes that you never got as a kid so it doesn't feel like your watching Dora the Explorer. It's also fun to watch all the movies at once because you get to see 3 generations of a family all trying to be solve their problems, of course while occasionally bursting into song, but no one's complaining. 2) Mulan- Magical creatures, dragons, bad-ass ninja training fightingish and it's a musical?!!? What more could you ask for? July is National Anti-Boredom month and it’s also the first month of summer break!!Yay!! So obviously because it’s summer break, it would be so easy following this month's theme, right? WRONG. Well for me at least. You don’t know how many countless hours I’ve spent staring at my phone hoping that maybe this time, just this 154th time I refresh my feed something interesting would pop up. Well, after being a blob on the ground for the past couple weeks I decided that I would not be a blob anymore and actually have fun this summer. So these are 5 activities that I’ll definitely attend/try and you should too that take place in Toronto. And even if you don’t here, I'm sure you could find places near you that also host these. 1) Watch a movie under the stars: Everyone loves a good movie, but watching a film sprawled on a blanket under the stars is just so much better, but you know what’s even better than that? All of that and it being free. some of the places that host these movies are Yonge Dundas Square, Harbourfront, Open Roof Festival and a bunch of other locations throughout the city. It's National Food Day!!!!!
Well I guess for some of us that's everyday..... For the rest of us, healthy people *cough cough not me, National Junk Food is the perfect opportunity to shamelessly eat monstrous amounts of junk food (I know I'll be participating) Happy Eating!!!!! This story is kinda graphic and there is blood….so don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Ok, so this story takes place several years ago and I was probably 6, maybe 7 I'm not sure. Once upon a time, I was taking a shower with my sister (she was probably 3-4ish) and we were fooling around, giggling and stuff and I accidentally (emphasis on accidentally because it totally was) pushed her and because she was 3 she immediately topples over and plops on her butt. No harm done, right? It’s national Peach Ice Cream Day! Yayyyyy!!!
Peaches are one of the best fruits in the summer. People wait months for the peach harvest to ripen and when they finally do it’s peach paradise for a few short weeks. In celebration of the long awaited peaches large ice cream companies make peach ice cream!!!!!!!!! So take advantage while you can because most major ice cream companies only produce it during the summertime. Here are some easy homemade peach ice cream recipes: http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/peach-ice-cream http://fruitguys.com/almanac/2012/07/19/easy-peach-ice-cream-no-machine-required http://allrecipes.com/recipe/georgia-peach-homemade-ice-cream/ http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/peachy-peach-ice-cream So, I love listening to music, but I have a problem.
Every single time I find a song I like, I listen to it probably 20 times a day and then the very next day I get sick of it. And this happens EVERY TIME so I run out of songs I like pretty fast. And you're probably like Alena why are you telling me this, but there's a reason why. So obviously when you have a problem you find a solution for it and I've discovered Soundcloud. Hi guys! So I’ve decided to start a series called story time (yay!) and these are stories from my life that I wanted to share because, why not?
Today’s story happened a couple years ago and it’s about my traumatic experience peeing in a forest, well it’s not me really peeing in a forest, but me trying to...you’ll understand when you read the story. Barley Tea Recipe + Barley Benefits
I am addicted to barley tea. There I said it, I Alena song am addicted to barley tea. I’m not even kidding I literally drink around 8 cups a day, for some reason I just can’t stop. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, barley tea is a tea made from barley (obviously) that’s popular in Japan and Korea (it’s called mugicha in Japan and boricha in Korea). It has a nutty taste to it and looks similar to ice tea. |
Alena SongEllo Everybodyyy! So I am a teenage girl living in Toronto and uh...I like lasanga and Game of Thrones...and I should probably stop before this gets to long. Archives |
